About the Madison Avenue Direct

The Madison Avenue Direct (or MAD for short) is a shuttle service serving the campuses of Drew University, Fairleigh Dickinson University, College of St. Elizabeth and downtown Madison, NJ. Funded in part by a congestion management grant from NJ Transit, MAD is a partnership of the three colleges it serves and the Madison Downtown Development Commission with the grant administered by TransOptions of Cedar Knolls, NJ.

After years of planning and identifying fund sources, service began on Fall 2011. Traversing a nearly 8-mile loop from the College of St. Elizabeth to Madison Plaza at 300 Main Street, the MAD will run 6 days a week. While the Madison Avenue Direct's primary focus is to serve the campuses that lie just outside downtown, any Madison resident or local employee is welcome to utilize the MAD.
